Clinic pathological study on AUB patients undergoing hysterectomy in a tertiary care hospital, Bengaluru: A cross sectional study

Background: Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is one of the most common debilitating menstrual problems and has remained frequent indications for hysterectomy in developing countries. AUB requires careful evaluation due to risk endometrial malignancy [1]. Approximately 40% specimens, no definite organic pathology could be established [2]. The objective present study find out distribution various specimens among women with AUB.Methods: In study, thirty patients undergoing were included evaluated pathology.Results: Majority participants belonged age group between 35-40 years (57%) age. mean was found 40.90+3.24 years. had Menorrhagia (83%). 14% postmenopausal bleeding. 70% proliferative endometrium findings on histopathology. 30% secretory endometrium. 64% diagnosed as (L) based histopathology 25% (A) PALM-COEIN system classification AUB.Conclusions: Hysterectomy a very commonly performed major surgical procedure gynaecological practice. This confirms that benign diseases are more than their malignant counterparts identified leiomyoma. To identify exact cause essential successfully treat AUB.
